Daniel (Rex)'s Story

Life I currently reside at the Seattle Maximum Security Penatentary for the Criminally Insane. Just kidding. I now live in Seattle after living in Florida for 2 years, where I had moved after living in Alaska for 12 years. Before that was California, Alaska (again)Mississippi, and California (again) with hops from town to town in all states. Sadly, I didn't make too many friends in school because my family moved all the time (check out my school list!). But, since I'm a total nerd, I figured it best to post a Bio on Classmates.com. I'm not married (accounted for). I don't have kids and don't want any. I'm not dead (obviously). I'm a musician. I own a small company. I don't feel like trying to convince people in my past that I'm incredibly successful and/or perfectly happy. However, I'm pleased with how my life is. Fortunately, I will never be content. The struggle to always improve one's self is what life is all about, so you'll not get sunshine and flowers from me today. If we knew each other back in prehistoric times, feel free to contact me. I had my name changed to Rex about 10 years ago, so get used to it because I don't like being called "daniel". That's about it. It's nice to check back here once in a while to see how unpopular I've always been. :) School I was lucky enough to be one of the less-popular kids at all the schools I went to. However, this Bio focuses on Wasilla High, as it was the most influential time of my public-education life. It never took long to realize when a new school year would be much like the last. Public schools are evil institutions which serve to derange otherwise perfectly sane humans. I hated my counselor (Mr. Chmewleski - sp) because he just wanted to kick me out of school every time I was late for a class. I had a bad haircut, bad acne, and a mis-proportioned body thanks to a cruel joke in the puberty d...Expand for more
ept. During lunch, I was most likely in one of the tiny practice rooms desperately trying to play Metallica riffs on a friend's electric guitar. My life was a bad episode from an after-school special. While the general population shunned me for my numerous superficial anomalies, I found some acceptance within the clique of miscreants with similar funny haircuts. That shred of friendliness taught me some valuable lessons about life and about people. Lessons which I still carry with me today. I'm sure the misery I experienced walking the halls of Wasilla High helped make me who I am, and for that I'm sorely grateful. While the "popular" kids mostly grew up to be auto mechanics, parents, and strippers, I concentrated on developing myself intellectually and artistically. Some people ran off any got married right after highschool, a few moved to other states and made something of themselves, some never grew up and are still doing the same things they did back then. I like to think I'm different than all of these people, but I fear that's not necessarily true. I live in Seattle and own a business that does online retail & custom merchandise manufacturing. I play various instruments in an (original music, not cover-) band, and involve myself with independent film, video production, etc. However, in no way do any of these projects define my existence. I would like to hear from a few of the people I used to know back in the day. Since I've moved out of Alaska completely, I've lost touch with almost everyone. I paid for this account to get one email address for someone I've always regretted losing touch with. Once I wrote my old friend (who now lives in L.A.), I quickly discovered that she had no interest in talking to me any more. All these years of searching for an old friend have boiled down to nothing. But I still have a funny hair cut... and that's what really counts. :)
