Daniel's Story

Life I left the active duty Air Force in 1990 and the Air Force Reserves in 1992. I came to a personal relationship with Christ in 1992. If you know of any sweet ladies like Tanya or Melanie that are single then let me know. Melanie Cox was in high school and I had a big crush on her. I was too shy back in high school and too quiet for my own good. Everything that has happened in my life is something that has helped me to see myself for the person that I am. I now listen to more Country than Rock. One of the songs that I enjoy listening to is: Bless the Broken Road. Maybe one day I will be able to play that song on a special day. If that day happens then it will be the one and only day like that for me. I listen to every style of music now. I look forward to hearing from some of you all. I started going through the yearbooks and it brings back great memories as I read some of what people wrote to me and about me. Does anybody know a cure for shyness? If you do then let me know. Palmer's class of 1986 20th reunion was a great time and I enjoyed seeing all of you that were able to attend. I am working in data storage and keep thinking that I should finally make a decision on what I want out of my life. At one point in time I was focusing on becoming a Youth Pastor. Yes, it does sound scary that somebody like me would decide that helping youth and becoming a mentor for them would be a positive thing. For those of you with kids in High School tell them to attend their Proms. It is one of the things that I wish that I would have done in High School. Remember the youth of today is the future of this country. Some of us may run for different offices now to try to do something positive for the future. We all have things in our past that other people can learn from. I did serve in the Air Force. I did one smart thing after High School. To think if I would have remained smart then I would be getting ready to retire for the first time. This would have been the 20th year for me if I would have remained in the active duty. Looking forward to our next reunion. School In High School I had a crush on Melanie Cox. I saw her once after high school and she was still fine then. I was on vacation when I saw her in the summer of 1989. I would go back to high school and this time actually apply myself to the classes that I to...Expand for more
ok. It is kind of scary thinking that the 20th reunion would be this year. I would enjoy seeing some of the old classmates. Eaglebeak the big nosed Indian was Palmer's best mascot. Eaglebeak is now my newest tattoo. A memory that will last a lifetime. I have seen Palmer's new mascot and it just isn't the same. I would have to say that I am no longer as shy as I was in high school. Or as one classmate wrote in my yearbook: 'You are still quiet and may always remain that way.' The classmate that wrote that may remember it or maybe not. She was right. I still allow my shyness to control my life to a point. Talk about history I was ranked 59 out of 308 for the graduating class of 1986 at Palmer. My GPA was poor at 3.220. Just to think if I would have applied myself back then I may have ranked higher in class. I went back to college in 2001 and my GPA improved. I almost maintained a 4.00 GPA except for a Psychology class in which I got a B. Workplace I am back working for Quantum. I became active duty Air Force on September 18th, 1986 and left the active duty on January 25th, 1990. I joined the Air Force Reserves and served as a reservist for just over 2 years. After that I worked for HP and then went to work for Digital. I was with Digital/Quantum from November 1993 until January 2001. I was laid off and went back to college. I worked for a couple of companies in 2003 and then went to work doing building maintenance for Heart of the Springs church. I worked there from February 2003 until March of 2005. In March of last year I went back to work as a contractor at Quantum and was hired by Quantum in December of 2005. Left Quantum in August of 2008 and had a lot of stress removed from my life. Military I would still be in the military if I could have spent a few more years in England or actually got to have the orders for Desert Shield. I left active duty in 1990 and the Air Force Reserves in 1992. I was in the 2168th Communications Squadron at RAF Upper Heyford and in the 5th Combat Communications Group at Robins AFB, GA. A few of the people that I worked with in England made it to Robins AFB before me. Some of the people that I met in the Air Force will be in my mind forever. I read that the Air Force is now actually being moved into the combat role more and I would love to be apart of what is happening now.
