Daniel's Story
Life
After graduating from Nampa High, went to school a couple of years then 23 months in the Army(69-71). Went to Boise State a year then on to Willamette University. Was married with a child by then. Enjoyed a small college a lot and was a Head Resident for a womens dorm, while working construction during breaks, playing football, wrestling and team handball. The latter was and remains a source of many friends and memories, eventually serving on the Executive Board of Directors after participating as an athlete, player/coach and official over 4 decades. Got to travel Internationally over 12 years and thoroughly enjoyed the games. Last won a National Championship in the Elite Competition in New York City in 2002. Age caught up, though have competed twice more at the Nationals with a crew of skilled oldies.
Completed a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Baylor University after four years in Waco, Texas. Not quite as educational as the Army, but a thorough learning experience nevertheless. Worked in the Federal Prison System a lot of years and had the privilege of serving thousands of folks incarcerated from all over the world. Like working for the UN. Last 15 years have been with Indian Health Service as a Clinical and Forensic Psychologist. A most meaningful job, though I deplore the social policy applied to Indian Country.

k for his dad for a time in DC in the late 80's running the Drug Programs for the Federal Bureau of Prisons from their National Office. Am not much of a beaurocrat and proved it there. Way to much of an idealist.
First marriage ended in divorce after 16+ years while living in Missouri. Have been assigned multiple places coast to coast and Mid-west as well. Was stationary 11 years on the Blackfeet Rez in Montana, then on to the Rosebud for a further fling in Indian Graduate Education as an Adjunct Prof at a local University and a Psych at the local Hospital. Have some retirement land in Montana where we look forward to retirement, grandkids, ceremonies and horses.
Remarried to another Ph.D. Psychologist and we settled on her home reservation(Blackfeet) in Montana. We have done our thing in Indian Education and Native Sports as well as parenting. We adopted many more kids in addition to ours and presently are up to 14 between us with 7 still at home(2 yr.old twins,4,5,9,12,14). Have learned more from this menagerie than I ever learned at school.
They have taught me to love all of our life, every moment. We buried a son years ago. Loving every moment and those about us is part of the legacy of his life and death that he left with us.
Many other events through these years, some worthy of reporting and some best untold, though life has been a marvelous adventure.
