Daniel's Story
I moved to Gary Indiana in 1980, where I met my first wife Debra. We divorced in 1984 after a bad relationship. No children. I started working for the Gary School Corp in 1983 as a Supervisor of custodians. I retired in 1997 because of illness with my parents. I moved to Belleville Illinois and started working as a contractor installing satellite dishes for Direct TV and Dish Net. I worked there for 5 years, then the company went out of business.I was able to get a job working for Security Armored Car services. I did that for about 1 year.Got bored with it, so I then started working for Apartment Exchange in the maintenance dept. I have been there for the last 4 years.I am married to my third wife Vernica which we have been together for the past 10 years. I have one son who is a Child by a woman I met in my younger days. ever was married to his mother. We dated about 3 months then broke up. So, now I'm just working, enjoying my grandchildren and family. I lost both my parents in 2006. So,I have just my older sister now, Deborah, who is married and lives in Michigan City, Indiana with her husband who she has been married to for 35 years.What I remember most about people I went to school with, is how they degraded me, because I guess I was poor, or maybe I just did not dress as good as them, I don't know. But, I do know, my mother was a single mother and did the best she could. I also know that kids can be very cruel and sometimes, that is something that a person has to live with the rest of their lives. I forgave all of them, but the thoughts and mean names that was said to me is still there, even though I'm as old as I am. I still remember.
