Daniel's Story
After High School I attended Chicago Musical College (Roosevelt University) and enjoyed the life of a student musician in the big city for 2 years. I opted not to finish the music degree, determining that flute players, like myself, were a dime-a-dozen. Music became a hobby and much more fun. I played with various ensembles around the city and began to meander in life.
I studied things that never interested me before like math and French. I even took a machine shop course which prepared me for doing technical and engineering graphics and illustration like my Dad. During my meanderings I also worked and traveled. At 24 I was a Graphic Arts Coordinator at Data Specialties (now Zebra Technologies) and determined Design and visual communications was my calling. So having saved some loot I quit my job and went to school full-time for a degree in Graphic Arts Technology from Northern Illinois University. My minor was design.

ause I met the love of my life, my wife of 26 years, Maribeth. She and I have lived a lot of experiences together including serving together overseas (France) in work aimed at communicating the message of Christ to Muslims.
Upon returning to Illinois in 1985 I started a more conventional life of steady employment as a designer working at the same company for 11 years. During that time we started a family and bought a home in Batavia IL. In 1996 I started my own design company with a friend. Design Corps in Batavia IL is going on 13 years.
Maribeth and I had our first child, daughter Hannah, in 1987, followed by Jesiah in 1990, followed by Micah in 1995. 5 years ago (2003) we were surprised to find ourselves "with child" again. At 46 I was a Dad once more to Willem who has become the charmer of the family. Having been born with heart problems and Down Syndrome, little Will is the greatest receiver and giver of love I have known and our family is very blessed.
Life goes on and challenges come and go.
