Life
After almost a decade on Martha's Vineyard, I'm now living in western NH for 12 yrs (loving the mtns, still missing the ocean). Had a short-lived pre-med intent, but earned a Biz degree and worked in retail buying. Chose to be a full-time mom and have been well-raised by 6 amazing children (some are in my photos) while homeschooling them and running 2 home-based businesses over a dozen or so years. At this point, I believe parenting 5 teens/early twenties at once ought to qualify one for some sort of prize (Johnny, what does she win?!) Single again in '06, I entered Act II (III?) in this journey by returning to my love of medicine and passed the RN boards in '09; am working on a med-surg floor at a local hospital and loving it! y limited spare time from hiking to contra dancing to romping with our Corgi, and continue to love golf, snowshoeing, and March Madness (Go Duke!). One can't be all work and no play :)
UPDATE 5/11: I bought our home last fall, fell to furious remodeling, and then met the man of my dreams around Christmastime. Now married, Mitch and I continually stand in awe of what an amazing thing God has done in pairing us up. We talk of life after kids and warmer places beyond New England, so who knows where we'll end up! Still loving my job on that med-surg unit - my coworkers are truly exemplary. Have 3 kiddos left at home, and one who graces us over school breaks and summers. Trying to get those 2 older gals to have an urgent need for independent living :) My middle son graduated high school in June - 4 down, 2 to go... Life is very, very good.
