Danielle Hay-Hanscam:  

Life After high school, I attended Oregon College of Education (now WOU), where I earned a BS in Elementary Education. I moved to Southern California in 1984. I got married in 1985 and divorced in 1996. I taught 1st, 2nd, & 3rd grades for 5 years and then began teaching P.E. in an elementary school. I earned my Masters Degree in Education from Azusa Pacific University in 1992. I have two sons. K.C. (Kenton Cole) is 34 and Spencer is 32. I would always return to Sweet Home for visits every summer and a few times during the school year. Steve Hanscam and I were married in August of 2009. We spent over 6 years living apart and traveling back and forth. In June of 2015, I retired from teaching and moved back to Sweet Home permanently. I miss my two boys like crazy and don't get to see them as often as I wish I could. It has been great for Steve and I to finally be able to live together on a full-time basis. He retired in the summer of 2019. It's also been nice to be close to my brothers and their families. We did purchase a second home in the Southern California desert in 2023. It's nice to be able to spend time with my boys during the winter months while we are down south. Dad passed away on February 26, 2013 and Mom passed away January 11, 2018.
