Danny's Story

Life “"Toothpick" has” lived life in thirds. My first third was wonderful old Anaheim (1941-1960), then – after Uncle Sam finished with me – the second third was Philadelphia, PA (1961-1980), and finally Houston, TX (1980 - ?). Over the years I’'ve managed to be everybody from an almost-on-Broadway chorus boy to a college professor to a publications designer, and go from a plain old high school grad to a Masters in Education. I left town a 120 lb geek, became a 140 lb show biz dude, then a 300 lb dork, and ended up ...Expand for more
a 180 lb ordinary middle-aged man (now “senior citizen”) with spunk. The “skinny little sissy” had an amazing life - sometimes rich and famous, sometimes an unemployed has-been - packed with people, places and adventures. But there’s no place like home, Dorothy. I still miss Anaheim. I always have and I always will. Not today’'s Anaheim. MY Anaheim of the 40s and 50s. Folks probably remember me as a weird, nerdy kid from a dysfunctional family, but I'’d still love to hear about the folks I grew up with back home.

Yep. That’s definitely snow…
64 years (a lifetime) ago. Please remember all who served, not for fame or recognition but just because it was their responsibility as U.S. citizens. Think of them tomorrow and every day.
I thought family and far away friends might like to see what I look like at 80. Not bad for six months older than World War II. 🤣

We have always prided ourselves in being just homebody types. Comfortable, not decorated to the nines. I think that sort of shows in our old-fashioned tree with its 25 years of “special” ornaments.

I made this 42 years ago to get through Pennsylvania winters. I sure am glad I kept it!
It’s a kitty cat Christmas.
