Darlene's Story

Life Hi! Just a note. After college, I went on a mission, taught music, got married and had 8 children (one at a time). I am still teaching music and now have 25 grandchildren. I live in Arizona. Have been married 43 years. I enjoy my life and would love to reconnect with friends from school. I'll try to answer all emails. One of the craziest, wildest things I did as a mom was to dress in a very funny outfit....striped colored purple, red and yellow flare bottom pants and a polka dotted shirt, put my hair in rollers and went to my daughter's high school to play mom to the boyfriend of her best friend. him to eat every bite of it. He played along (thank goodness). Now he is married to that girl. My daughter says they are very happy. The lunch box contained the answer to his prom invitation. My current age is 69. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be dying. I was so completely wrong. I work with young people every day and I feel younger all the time. I played basketball 2 years ago with a 4th grade team and we won. I didn't make any baskets but I stole the ball and threw it to people who did. Fun!! I retired in June 2008 and now teach privately at home. I also teach English to Hispanics. That is really fun! Write when you can find the time. Sincerely, Darlene (Moore) Duke
