Darlene's Story
Hi there,
I have been away from Hawaii for a long time. After graduating from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, I worked as a clerk typist in a few businesses in Honolulu. The controller at Young Laundry took a chance with me and sent me to IBM for computer classes. This started my career in computer programming and analysis.
I lived and worked in Honolulu for several years. Since my husband at the time moved back to Kauai, I moved also and worked at Kauai Electric as a computer programmer. After our divorce, I moved back to Honolulu to work at Young Laundry again.

xt year and moved to Las Vegas. In Las Vegas, I worked at Desert Inn, MGM Grand and the Water District. In 1995 my husband had heart surgery. We decided that it was time to move out of Las Vegas.
In 1996, we moved to Bremerton, Washington. I worked at EDS for 10 years and retired a few years ago. I love retirement and wish I could have done it years ago.
We spend a lot of time with our grandchildren and enjoy watching them grow up. They have brought so much joy into our lives.
Hope you are all doing well and enjoying life. High school seems like a long, long time ago. However, we were lucky to grow up on Kauai.
