Darlene M.'s Story

Life Boy, have I traveled: I married in 1980, to Ernie Carpenter, a Seabee stationed at Gulfport. We moved to Kingsville, TX where our daughter Katrina, was born. We transfered to Bermuda, then to Florida, back to Mississippi, and to Puerto Rico. In 2000, I received my BA in Education, from Columbia College. It only took 21 years, but I did it. Flash forward to 2006: We transfered back home in 2001; Ernie retired in 2003 - 25 years in the Navy, and Katrina graduated from *PASS HIGH* in 2004. ell her to tell everyone, she had it first.) I worked as a substitute teacher, till March of 2004, when I took a leap of faith and pursued a career as an over-the-road truck driver. It's something I have wanted to do for a long time. I went out, traveled all over this country for 6 months and had a blast. People, it is beautiful out there and very different from down here. If you get the chance, go out there and see it. 2008: Our first grandchild was born Easter Sunday, April 12: Ms Skylir Alexys Kalyn Watkins. She is beautiful... PS Yep, that's me on my bike.
