Darlene's Story

I have so much to tell. Another day. For the present I signed up today in hopes to learn what happened to two classmates going back to grade school. Maybe someone remembers the smartest guy, Garry Monroe. I believe his dad took him flying and he may have learned to fly as well. Full name is Garry Louis Monroe. Have to look him up next time I get in town. (I may have found Garry!) I have a message for him from another classmate that use to give him grief. They lived to regret their meanness to such a bright kind man. Also, the best friend to all she knew was "Lupe" Maria Ochoa who I have found and we are staying in touch.. Yvonne Perales changed my life Freshman year. I was trying to get her to run for Freshman Queen. And, Phil Seitz. I heard he moved to California. He use to carry my books to English. Looking back he was a catch. I was more about being friends to all and not serious with anyone - or tried not to be. I was more sensible beyond my years. How about Nancy Rohl. My brother liked her but I never knew until a few years ago. Julie Benson went to a Homecoming with my brother one year. Susan King dated a guy throughout high school, did they marry? e in 8th grade to West Side Story. It was so much fun at rehearsals. Never got to perform, but don't recall why. Susan had a very loving family. Donna Marquardt helped me with shyness on 8th grade graduation night, Or was it her "threat" to disown me if I didn't act more grownup. Jean Goscinski gave me my signature side part hairstyle that is still my go to way of wearing my hair. She also thought my dad was very handsome and so began my embarrassment to be seen out with "my dad" alone. That was short lived as my dad and me grew closer and he gave me fatherly love that all girls need to navigate high-school. Anyone know where and what these all amounted to after Fenton? There are many others too I would love to hear of . . . Anyone ever write about our roots? Our small community has so many dear, talented people. And many that never moved away. Whatever happened to our Senior Student Council and the funds in our 1971 account? Who was the Treasurer? Anyone want to get together for a reunion preferably during a mild season? Although, I still would ice-skate but many of us may not be as active or think of ourselves as active. Me? I am still 17 in many ways and very happy in the present moment in which I enjoy each day!
