Darlene's Story
Well, as anyone who remembers me from Junior High & High School know, I was teased mercilessly, called names, and tormented to no end. So, unfortunately, my High School days are not a pleasant memory for me. I did have a few friends, Rosario Jimenez, Debbie Strong, Freda Golden, Linda Goodwin, Jimmy & Dennis Tearney, Dean Snodgrass to name a few. But, in the long run it made me a stronger person and I don't put up with crap from ANYONE!!! After two failed marriages I met the love of my life, Charlie Jones and we were married on Feb. 12th, 1987. He took in my two children as his own, adopting the youngest one and we adopted two more children from my previous marriage. We had a wonderful life together. Charlie passed away on Oct. 4th, 2000 from a massive heart attack. He took a huge part of my heart with him on that day. Two years later on Oct. 3rd, 2002 my beautiful mother passed away. Three weeks later on the 29th of Oct. my precious grandson passed away from S.I.D.S at 4 1/2 mos. old. October hasn't been a good month for me obviously. On August 3rd, 2003 I suffered a brain aneursym rupture. It was in my brain stem and the worst kind you can have. It was inoperable, but they had a new procedure where they do an arterial gram, going in through the groin to the brain, and fill the rupture with platinum coils. I was the 6th person to have this procedure done in the brain. After 4 coilings and a stent I am doing...Expand for more
great with only minimal side affects. I have problems with my equal librium, depth perception, short term memory loss (but who of us at this age doesn't have that anyway) and have to take medication to prevent seizures. I also have to go in yearly for an arterial gram so they can check the rupture and make sure all is good. The doctors call me their "Little Miracle" and are surprised I survived it and am not in a nursing home. I give all the credit to the Good Lord. He obviously isn't done with me yet. On July 4th, 2005 I married another wonderful man, Wayne Fryer, and life is going well. I have thirteen wonderful grandchildren and can't spend enough time with them. They love coming out and staying with us and letting me spoil them. We have 5 acres and plenty of room for them to run. My brother, Neal, has the 5 acres next door to me and my brother, Randy, has 5 acres across the road from us. My brother and his wife, Frank & Brenda, live out in Deer Creek. We are all very close, as are our children and grandchildren. After losing Charlie, my Mom and Hayden, I realize you never know how long you have, and could lose anyone at any time. So, family and friends are the most important things in my life. Remember that and give out lots of hugs and "I love you's" to your family and friends. I would love to hear from old friends, so send me an email and lets get back in touch...
