I was a very angry kid. I had a major attitude problem. I even had altercations in this camp. But thanks to Sgt Jenkins, Toole,and Scheperds I left matured, I was on honors and had the opportunity to travel with Bob Holden the following summer to speak about this major turn around I did with my life. I didn't go though and after a few months I lost that discipline I gained from the five and a half months I spent in camp. Back to the old me but a slight different. More aware of what I was doing. And although that didn't stop alot of stupid decisions I made, it did make it easier to turn around my life when I finally did. Because in acuality, I knew better than the things I was doing. I was just hard headed. SMH. My current age is 30. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be successful and settled in their lives. I was so completely wrong. I as many others my age are just now realizing what they want outta life and realizes how to get there... I went to this camp at 16. I had been constantly fighting and getting kicked outtake every school I was in. So as a result, a judge and my mother thought this would do me some good. And it did. Now I have 3 children. 9,7 and 6. I also have a relationship that is built on the Lord and accumilated 2 stepchildren 11 and10. Who would have thought. In this process I've learned that you can't give up on your dreams and/or life period. You have to pick yourself up and keep going because life won't wait for you. I have to lead by example for the little ones. I always wanted to be a fashion designer when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a crazy idea. As it turns out, they might not be right.
