Darrell's Story
Life
I never thought I would be writing one of these bios but after reading some others I found it interesting. After high school I attended, and graduated from, Southwest Texas State University (it wasn't Texas State back then) with a degree in management. After college I went back to the company I had worked for in high school where we serviced aircraft propellers. In March of '98 my wife and our two girls were transferred to Houston where I was made the general manager of the Houston facility. In '02 my wife (Rhonda),who had a great career going with a company called Medimune, in our infinate wisdom bought the Houston facility and renamed it R&D Propeller Service, Inc..We now work together with me handling the techincal end ...Expand for more
of the business and her handling the administrative end. Since then have lost the remainder of my hair and grey is moving in on the areas other than my head. Business ownership is nice but it can be quite stressful. My oldest daughter is a freshman in high school this year and her sister is just a grade behind her. Our plan is to get them off to college, sell the business, then move back to the hill country somewhere around Fredricksburg. In other words get the hell out of Houston,actually Pearland which is just south of Houston but ajoining. If anybody finds themselves here in Pearland, TX feel free to look us up. We have a nice pool with an outside bar where I spend a lot of time honing my beer drinking skills in the evenings.
