Darwin's Story
Life
I was what you would call the nerdy sidekick in my LHS days. I was into Star Trek and Dungeons & Dragons (still am). I hung around mostly with the underclassmen and my best friend at the time Anthony "Tony" Rodriguez. I was the only guy in Ms. Hale's stenography class during junior year and part of COE my senior year. Anyone remember me? Now, I'm currently divorced (twice) with four sons and one daughter. I work a full-time job that has nothing to do with the college degree I earned (graphic design). I also do computer programs and web page design as a hobby. On the side I publish d20 (role playing game) books and sell t-shirts through cafepress. I'm a huge Mac evangelist. My current girlfriend jokes around that I'm stuck in the 80s and, honestly, I have to agree. For about 15 years I wore the famous "mullet", but I'm older now and don't have the patience to take care of long hair. I miss my days at LHS and was saddened to hear that it no longer exists. Too bad. I'll still have the memories.
School
My biggest crush (and biggest embarrassing moment) was Miki Mason. I'm still not quite over the way she humiliated me when she found out. I'd have to say Mr. Groves, my...Expand for more
art teacher, was my biggest inspiration. That man rocked! Even though my years at LHS weren't perfect I would definitely do it all over again.
UPDATE: Heard from Miki and got an apology after 25 years. It was nice and greatly appreciated.
I went to many different schools as we moved around alot. I started at North Lincoln Hill for K then we moved to NC and I went to 1st grade at a school there. I don't remember the name. Then moved to Lorain, OH and I went to Durling elementary for part of 2nd, the finished 2nd and part of 3rd at Garfield ELEMENTARY (I don't know why it gives Academy), then finished 3rd and all of 4th at Durling again, then part of 5th at Norwalk Middle, then the rest of 5th and all of 6th back at Garfield. I spent my whole Jr. High at Hawthorne JHS. For the first couple months of HS I was at Admiral King and then transferred to LHS where I finished my HS career. And I loved it there.
Military
During my time in the Air Force I met a lot of great people. While at Lackland AFB I was one-half of "Keesler Vice", my good friend Be-Bop was the other half. I was also part of a D&D group while at Edwards AFB. That gave me some of the best memories that I have.
