Life
September 01, 2014. I'm officially a Naval retiree. 1985-2014 Who would've believed it.... [[This year marks 25 memorable and remarkable years with the Navy (that's combined active-14 & reserve-11). It's been a blast, both literally and figuratively. I joined to travel and travel I have. I've seen the good, the beautiful, the bad, the ugly, the worst, and the down-right ridiculous. This planet and the people we share it with are truly fascinating.
I'm currently a faithful civil-servant and anti-terrorism specialist with the Military Sealift Fleet Support Command in Virginia. Pre-9/11 I was a logistician, but fate had other plans for me so here I am and enjoying every minute of it.

he sun setting behind buildings rather than over the ocean. I really miss those brilliant west coast sunsets, breezes, and waves (weather moves west-east so no wind unless a hurricane's near). Folks over here don't know what they're missing. And most of all I've come to the realization that having to wait until 10:30pm for Laker/Dodger games to start or until 1pm on Saturday/Sunday for football games to begin will never get easy! Okay- IT SUCKS!
Lastly, for any, and all of you still living on the west coast, please do me a favor and have an authentic mexican meal for me, especially the tortilla chips and salsa - MMMM! I'm sufferin' serious withdrawals.
Abide by the golden rule and live every second like it's your last because you can't get them back once they've ticked by.
