Daryl's Story
Daryl's schools include Randolph East Mead High School. Daryl later attended American University, Goddard College, University of Virginia, California State University, and Gannon University.
After leaving college in 1960, I moved to Cleveland where I taught in a residentual psychiatric school for children. While there I met that âvery specalâ woman. Her name was Doris (Pinky) and we worked together for 4 years. In 1964 we got married and moved to Virginia. Our son Mike arrived in September of 1965. It was wonderful life until she passed away in 2003, just 10 days before our 39th anniversary.

ith encouragment from Pink, I followed my dream since high school. I finally started working in radio. I produced and hosted a big band/ jazz show for 23 years. In 2002 I left radio and went to work for the Fauquier Chamber of Commerce / Visitors Center as General Manager. When Pink passed away in 2003 I took early retirement. Two months later I ws asked to return and manage the visitor center on weekends. So Iâve been working there 2 days week for 14 years now.
The rest of the time I manage to keep busy. I started camping after Pink died and continue to do so. Although at age 76 I sold my tent and bought a camper. Whenever possible I head to the Pocono Mountains. I manage to get to the gym 3 days a week and I serve on the Middletown VA Planning and Zoning Commission..
