Daryl's Story
Life
I live just 35 miles west of Fargo, ND in the little town of Buffalo. I am a graduate of Valley City State University, Valley City, North Dakota; with a B.S. in Human Resources and a double minor in Psychology and Sociology. I also managed to get a Two Year Certificate from Minot State University, Minot, ND in Developmental Disabilities. After two years working as a Case Manager for the State of North Dakota, with Dually Diagnosed individuals (chemical dependency and mental illness), I have currently worked for the past two years with Red River Human Services Foundation as a Case Manager/Individual Program Coordinator. I now work primarily with folks with Mental Illness and Developmental Disabilities. I love my current job and all my clients. They give me grey hair and keep me young... never a dull moment with this lot! lol
In my "extra special free time" I volunteer for several organizations around the state of North Dakota. I'm an Affiliate Coordinator for Preservation North Dakota and I've been a member of PND since 2000. I work to promote PNDÂs popular "Local Affiliate Program." I am also the Chairman of the Buffalo Heritage Center, Inc. and helped save several historic buildings in Buffalo, ND; Including the ÂOld Stone Church, Episcopal Rectory, Barn and a 1916 Brick High School. won a National Trust Honor Award in 1999. The BHC is not only the only organization to have ever received this award in the state of ND, but Buffalo, ND is the smallest town EVER (pop 204) to have received this award. Stone and Brick masonry, painting, shingling and other "handy" skills have unfortunately become some of my hobbies. ;-)
I enjoy music (both playing and listening), creative writing, movies, singing, dancing and the outdoors; not necessarily in that order, and usually not all at once.
I own a large historic home, and oh... unless you didn't hear or didn't know... yes I am gay. Big shocker I know...
:-) My partner Dale and I have been together for 16 years, living with our best friend Veronica, our Doggie Boo (of the "Me and you and a dog named Boo" fame...), Vern's cat Nephie (short for Neffrikitty) and our Morning Dove "Mortimer".

Workplace
I started out working at the apartment complex where i lived when i was in High School. I moved on to working for Faith Sound and Light Co., which was a music service for dances, weddings, etc. I got my first real job in 1985 at the Country Kitchen in International Falls, MN. I worked there for 4 years. Moved on to De Lendrecies in West Acres, Fargo, ND and worked there for 4 years.
