Dave's Story

Reconnecting with old classmates from Dominguez is fun. I've got 3 kids and 2 grandkids. The parental responsibilities don't stop when they become adults. New duties helping out with the grand kids is a joy and takes up a lot of time in retirement. The rest is filled up with numerous hobbies. etting back into photography, music and genealogy. One year ago, I started writing my memoir. A lot to do with Compton and growing up there, but also the struggles and triumphs that occurred later in life. It's a blast going back to those childhood and formative years and putting it all in perspective. Hopefully, my kids and grandchildren will enjoy reading it some day in the future.

Granite around town is a constant reminder of the the town's origin. The SF City Hall, the Sacramento Capital Building, the Auburn Courthouse and even many buildings in New York City can lay claim to having been constructed

Love the plants up here. These are Crape Myrtle trees in my backyard.
Vegetables, flowers and other plant material thrive up here. Home grown tomatoes are a specialty.
Immigrants from Finland, Ireland and China (in addition to Native Americans) made up early populations. "Finn Hall" as this structure is called, still stands on Rocklin Road and is used by community groups.
Many of Rocklin's founding families worked the railroads.
