Dave's Story

Life Hello everyone, I hope everyone is doing well. Let ne see, where do I begin? Of course, over the last 25 years or so, many of us have had some very interesting things happen in our lives. Then again, there are some who have had some very sad things happen as well. As most people know my wife Jill died in 1997 from cancer. That was the most painful event in my life. She was the best thing that ever happened to me. She was smart, funny, a great mother, andf a good wife. She was always thinking of how she could help other people. She ran the house, paid the bills and took care of our two kids while I was away with the Army. When she died, it was like my heart was smashed. I will always love her. Over the last five years or so my life wasn't all that stable. What I am trying to say is I didn't handle her death very well. I covered the pain in ways that aren't good. It took many years for me to accept her death. However, today, I can say things are a litte better. Even though I lost her, I...Expand for more
was blessed with the two children she gave me. I have a daughter 25, and a son 15. Both are doing well these days. I doughter is a mother of a son, and my son is attending easton high school. Please forgive me if I sceem to be bouncing around here. Like I said before I spent 20 years in the Military. I have held assingments in a mortor platoon, I spent a short time in supply, but the last 12 years of my career was in Armor (M1A1 Tanks) I was a Master Gunner in this field. I attended many schools thoughout my time in the service. Most of them were at Ft. Knox. I didn't see any combat action, however, our unit was heading to Europe during the Golf war. I retired as a Sergeant First Class. My last two assignments I was a platoon sergeant, and the last one was Baltaion Master Gunner. I retired in 2000 with 20 years of good service. I think I will stop right here. I can go on and on however, I would rather tell people in person. Again, I hope everyone is well and may God be with you.
