Dave's Story
Life... Well...
If someone had told me way back when I would be doing what I am now doing, I'd have told them they were nuts!
I live in Prince Rupert, BC (a little too small for me!); it's on the pacific north coast, a days drive west of Prince George. I'm married with two beautiful children (7 & 9 years). I completed a Masters degree in Education eight years ago and am now the Chair of Student Services at the Northwest Community College (this is the "nuts" part). Virgin Islands in my twenties, and a year and a half stint ('97/'98) in the south of Mexico (Chiapas).
I am fluent in Spanish (started by correspondence in '92!) and have done work in Peru, Chile, Mexico, Guatemala, and Costa Rica (mostly teaching). It is possible that I will be doing some work in Bolivia in the next couple of years.
My degree focused on educational philosophy and my work involves working in developmental adult education and learning assistance, as well as advanced computer studies.
