Dave's Story
After high school, I went to a music school in the LA area. In 1990, I moved to Spokane, attended some college, and got into the Seattle alt-rock scene of the early '90s. After meeting the girl of my dreams, I got out of the music "industry" and settled down in Spokane. I got married, and worked in a variety of IT jobs. After 9/11, I found myself under-qualified and out of work. In 2002, I decided to go back to college to retrain for a different career. I then got my Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Music Education from Whitworth University and moved over to the west side for a job.
I've been happily married for 13 years and have 3 children aged 10, 8 and 5, plus a stepdaughter, 22. I currently teach middle school orch...Expand for more
estra and elementary school general music. I still play a lot of music in the local symphony, a Big Band, a vocal jazz group, a Gregorian Chant schola for church, some funk, jazz, and fusion music with a Portland group, and the occasional rock/pop gig. I love my family, cooking, trading card games, watching cult/thriller movies, and enjoy a good bottle of wine or glass of IPA. I have many great memories from RHS Class of 1988; I can't believe it's been 20 years now . . . it's all like a dream! I'd really like to hear from my old friends Mike Hartley, Blaine Gullickson and Frank Desimone. If you were in Swing Choir in '87 or '88, get in touch and let me know what you're up to. I was the bass player in case you forgot . . .
