Dave's Story
Life
Living in kelowna since 1986. I am in my second marriage, 12 year old son, 9 year old daughter and our newest member Baby Emily. 14 months old and a joy to us all.
Workplace
I have been working the same company I was when I was at school in PG. Northern Airborne Tech. It has been a ever changing job which is probably the reason I have never needed to change companies.
Well, no longer work for NAT, I bought the production line. Does that count as still only working for 1 company in my life?
Emily is now almost 4 years old, and loves snuggles every morning. Best way to start the day. My son is 15 and we start his truck project this summer, frameoff restoration of a toyota 4X4, see if I still have it. My oldest daughter is a brain and already knows more then me, so she thinks. (probably does but don't tell her that)
It's nov 2010, just snowed and Emily is going to make her own snow kid today and is already bugging us to go skiing. 2010 has seen a lot of firsts, our new(old) company Anodyne Electronics Manu. had it's first anniversary, we have grown from 49 employees to over 60 this year and are planning to be 70 before the end of 2011. Shawn our oldest started Secondary school this year, Jayden started junior high and Emily started preschool.
April 4 2011, AEM has 72 employees, crazy. Emily is in Tae kwon do, hillarious. Shawn has some new mud chuckers for his truck and Jayden made the honour roll and is hoping for the Principals academic award in her last semester.
I have just been in contact with a very dear old friend thru this media, it was scary but also great to hear from the past brought to the present. I encourage all who have not posted a story to try it, couple of lines on what happened and where you are.
July 2012, AEM has 85 employees, and a whole lot of white in my hair. I have been travelling the world meeting customers, and am very impressed with turkey and surprise france. I think i am part Turkish, as the food agrees with my pallet completely(lots of meats and breads), France, riviera area, very friendly and few issues with communication, very friendly, i will be going back. grade french teacher(can't remember name), but i was actually able to read my way thru menus and signage.
Family update, Shawn passed grade 11, and his truck is at undercoat stage, body assembly and engine rebuild to go. Jayden made honour roll and other special awards, and is going for summer job interview. Emily graduated kindergarden without to many time outs, she went to her first gymnastics class last night. The new picture is off the whole family in Playa de carmen Feb 2012, friends wedding, very beautiful area of the world.
April 2015, The big 50 this year, a bunch of the Quinson/Lakewood/PGSS gang headed to Vegas to celebrate. Great time with Daryl Lerum, Mark Sawchuk, Greg Ramsay, Finn Barlaug and Colleen Thorn(Ramsay). As per usual Mark almost got us kicked out of the hotel, no hand cuffs this time.
Family update, Shawn graduated and is living on his own, truck is running but a few dents. Jayden just received her acceptance to UBCO for the fall and is working at Montana's as a greeter.Emily is finishing up grade 3 this spring and is in Piano lessons. We bought a condo at big white and spent every weekend at the hill this winter, very relaxing.
Well, Diana and I decided to take the big step and retire. We sold our company before Christmas 2018 and will be looking to fill our lives with living, family, travel and giving back to our community.
Family update:
Shawn has held a job now for over a year, we are very proud of him, he has his own micro suite(omg tiny).
Jayden went to UK for her third year of university, and is enjoying the culture and all the new friends. We are going to have a hard time bring her back. I think one of her highlight would be skiing in the alps over Christmas break with a bunch of school chums.
Emily is in grade 6, doing well, loving her school and a couple very close friends. She is in the big white ski racers club and enjoys going straight downhill. Finished in the top 5 at her first Down hill race at Silver star this year.
Diana and I, well as I said before we are retiring. Still much to do in our lives and want to get started on them.
