After high school, I headed to the Southwest to the University of New Mexico - Freshman and Sophomore years, voice and cello double-major but dropped cello, frankly it was more work than I figured on. I made a nuisance of myself to the point that I was gently asked to maybe go somewhere else. Truth is, I drank a lot. It is a gorgeous part of the world, wish I had grown up a bit quicker. My loss. Next, on to the University of Florida - I think it was named the Playboy party school of the year. I met some really terrific people and got my degree in Music Education. BMusEd you see. I met and married a girl from Brookfield, we met in a lawnmower factory, the marriage ended fairly soon, and a truly wonderful kid came out of it. I am lucky enough to correspond with him now, have a granddaughter who is smart and beautiful. she sure didn't get that from me.
