David's Story

Life Justice St. Elem. (1971/73), Columbus Jr. HS, (1973/76). El Camino Real HS, (1976). San Clemente HS, (1977). Capistrano Valley HS, (1978/79). L.A. Pierce College, (1980/82). Married 1983. Divorced 1987. My ex-wife remarried & was killed in a car crash in 2004. Met my wife & mother of my children in 1992. First son born in 1994. Married in 1996. More kids came along in 1997, 1998, 2000, 2005 and lastly in 2007. 6 kids, total to date. The rest is history! I work as a computer operator. Previously I'd spent 21 years as a systems field repair technician. My current life is about working & taking care of my family. It's hard writing a bio on a board like this without sounding sappy. I remember lots of good times from my school days. I remember team and individual sports I participated in. Though I was never a gifted athlete, I always gave it my all & was in it to win. I remember teammates from the West Valley Eagles, SCHS wrestling and CVHS wrestling and football. Our CVHS cheer squad had a lot of pep and spirit. That whole school had a lot of spirit, 'cause it was brand new and we wanted to show the other schools what we could do, right out of the box. I remember going to games and dances. I remember the academic courses and many great teachers. I remember many names and faces of friends and acquaintances from all the school years' past. The names I remember could fill volumes, though I've found my memory isn't ironclad. I remember Justice St & Columbus people pretty well. I remember CVHS people pretty well. I remember a fair amount of people from SCHS. People I'd know strictly from ECR HS are the ones I'd remember less well, as I only went to ECR for about 6 months in the summer & fall of 76. FWIW, I hope people remember me as fondly as I remember them. If there are people out there who might remember me, feel free to jog my memory if you like. I always did well in school, academically. I was into sports and was practically the model student. Then...Expand for more
, suddenly things changed in my 12th grade year. I dropped out of sports and all but dropped out of school by the end. I ditched class as often as I could, and I barely graduated. I boycotted my graduation ceremony. No doubt, in retrospect I regret that I headed that way and all but wasted my 12th grade year, but you can't go back and redo it, can you? No retakes in real life. My parents moved a lot. I went to 4 elementary schools, 1 jr high and 3 high schools. I felt I had many good friends along the way, but as things went, I had many friendships interrupted, only to move on and form new friendships in a new place. I remember a fair number of people pretty well. People I spent the most number of years with in class are the ones who's names are cemented in my mind, not to mention the handfuls of really good and close friends along the way. I like to think I had some good friends back then, despite myself not always being in the right state of mind or type of friend to be to others. Though they were not "golden years", my school years were good years. I think growing up as a teenager in the 70's was a unique time. I think of it as my time, when I practically thought I ruled the world. We definitely ran amuck in the streets back then. In retrospect, life was much simpler then. After high school, by an unplanned turn of events, in 1980 I ended up going to LA Pierce (Jr) College. It was back on my old turf, so to speak. My Pierce College days (80/82) were pretty uneventful. I did a 2-year computer technology course, plus a little general ed. I picked up a few night classes in 1983/4 at Pierce. Later on, down the road (88/90) I picked up some music and a couple of academic classes at AV College. Today's modern life as an adult is an adventure and a challenge. I have a life perspective now that I never concieved of back then. There's still a lot that life has to offer, & still lots of life yet to live, so let's go get it and make it happen! ;) Thx4readgmybio
