David's Story

Life Attended several colleges in the 60's before getting drafted in 1967. When released in 1970 I returned to Michigan State University and finished most of a degree in American Studies before dropping out to persue musical interests. My band fell apart after 4 years so I wound up working in instrument sales for the next 15 or so years. Decided I was wasting my life and education so returned to school to finish my degree and taking additional coursework to qualify me for graduate studies in Art Conservation. After 5 years of classes, part time jobs, internships, and being wait-listed for a year, I finally won a fellowship to attend the University of Delaware's Program in Art Conservation which is jointly sponsored by the Wintert...Expand for more
hur Museum. It was very competitive as each class is limited to 10 students. I completed my studies in 1996 and now work as collections conservator for the Springfield Armory Museum in Springfield, MA. Other sites I have worked at along the way include: Henry Ford Museum, Detroit Institute of Arts, Society for the Preservation of New England Antiquities, the Houston Museum of Fine Arts, Tryon Palace (New Bern, NC), Colonial Williamsburg, Philadelphia Museum of Art, and the National Park Service's conservation center in Harpers Ferry, WV. Am finally settled in western Mass and loving the area. Had a 3X bypass surgury in late 2002 that went very well. Am still reasonably fit. Haven't dated in almost 10 years but am still interested.
