From SLV I joined the Navy, served 10 years, submarines, Hawaii. Got married in HI a few months before leaving the USN; we traveled across the country and settled in CT, where I went to work for Northeast Utilities in a Nuke power plant, and Helen got a job as an RN at the local hospital, where she continues to work 33 years later. NU sent me to school and I received a BS in Nuclear Engineering Technology. After 15 years operating the plant, I left and contracted out to NU for 4 years, working 6 months out of every 12. When that dried up, I started a remodeling business, and worked at it for 9-10 years. In 2011 Westinghouse called and asked if I could write operating procedures for their Advanced Passive reactor system.
