David B.'s Story
Life
DAVID B. SCHWARTZ is married to fellow Southwood/New World alum Amy (Langer) Schwartz. They have a beautiful daughter named Lana Meredith Schwartz (born 10/16/04), a wheaten terrier named Winnie (after Winthrop Paroo), and a home in Toluca Woods, California (just outside of Burbank).
David is Vice President of Business Affairs for Disney * ABC Domestic Television. David came to Disney after stints at indie film houses Gold Circle Films (ÂMy Big Fat Greek WeddingÂ) and Alpine Pictures (ÂThe ConventÂ).
On the creative side, David recently worte a comic book series entitled MELTDOWN, which was published in 2006/2007 by Image Comics (and which features artwork by fellow S'Wood alum Sean Wang, graphic design by fellow S'Wood/NWSA alum Rory Myers, and input from fellow NWSA'ers Bernard Chang and John-Paul Leon). David also wrote (along with fellow NWSA alum Keith Tralins and fellow UM Law alums Adam Beighley and Adam Smith), directed and co-produced (along with fellow NWSA alum Keith Tralins) the award-winning feature film "Fighting Gravity" and served as a comedy writer on several syndicated television shows.
David earned his Juris Doctorate degree cum laude from the University of Miami School of Law in 1996, where he studied entertainment law on a full-tuition merit scholarship as a Dean's Honor Scholar. As an undergraduate, David studied film production and direction at New York University. While a student at NYU, David wrote, directed, produced and/or crewed thirty-one short films, and worked at both Marvel Comics and NBC-TV's "Late Night with David Letterman".
He continues to deny reports than he plans to run for President in 2012.
