We noticed some old 78rpm French records in the small closet back there and somehow decided to wing them out the window when Mrs. Young was writing on the board. She never saw but someone down on the tennis court who had to dodge the flying saucers and shattering vinyl did. An inquisition by the dreaded Vice-Principal Mr. Spain resulted in a bunch of demerits and a warning that any more would mean suspension. But for the grace and wisdom of Mrs. Young, Gordon and I would have had to pay, or worse, had a call to our parents. Instead, we received the worst possible punishment, sitting up front for the rest of the year where we couldn't duck her questions or see if we were catching Nancy Rosenshein 's eye. C'est la vie!
