Life
After graduation, joined the Army. Basic Training, Ft. Leonard Wood, MO.; Advanced Training, Signal School, Ft. Gordon, GA.; Stationed at Camp Kilmer, N.J.; 51st Signal Battalion, headquarters I U.S. Corps, Korea; Ft. McPherson (Atlanta), GA.; Mannheim, GER.; Ft. Bragg, N.C.; 32d Signal Battalion, Headquarters V U.S. Corps, Frankfurt, GER.; Ft. Benjamin Harrison (Indianapolis), IN.; 304th Signal Battlaion (8th U.S. Army Support), Seoul, S. Korea; Signal Instructor Company, United States Army South Eastern Signal School, Ft. Gordon, GA.; Qui Nhon Army Airfield, and later at Headquarters II Field Forces (Long Binh North), Republic of South Vietnam; back to Ft. Gordon, GA.; 39th Signal Battalion, (Headquarters USAREUR and Seventh Army Support), Heidelberg, GER.; and finally back to Ft. Gordon, GA. Served U.S. Army from June, 1958, until I retired November, 1982. I belong to the following veterans organizations: The American Legion, Forty & Eight, composed of members of The American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Non-Commissioned Officers Association. n, especially Broadway and Western Avenue, have changed. Also, I have noticed that a lot has happened to the eastern side of town.
I always wanted to be a soldier when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a good idea. As it turns out, they were right.

My current age is 7 0. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be dead. I was so completely wrong.
mostly shirts and jeans. No cap. Only wear a suit and tie to formal occasions.
I have some trophies from when I threw darts on a team sponsored by the American Legion Post I am a member of. We threw steel-tip darts.
In 10 years, I hope to be alive. I'm going to get there by continuously breathing.
My first job was at Lords , where I got paid very little to sweep up and fold boxes. What I remember most about it is I worked after school and Saturday afternoons.
When I was very young, during W. W. II, we would go out into the yard at night during the air rain drills and chase lightning bugs because it was so dark. All of the lights would be off in the city until the all clear was sounded. Every home had blackout curtains across all the windows and doors.
