David's Story

Life Born Stamford, Conn. Lived in Stamford, San Francisco area, Elgin, Ill., La Canada, CA and Portuguese Bend, CA growing up. Attended elementary school in Stamford (Belltown and Willard), and La Canada (Paradise Canyon) and Palos Verdes Estates (Malaga Cove). Attended Alexander Fleming Jr High and Graduated Narbonne High School, Harbor City, CA 1961. Graduated Chapman College 1965 degree in Business Admin. MBA The Citadel 1979. U.S. Navy Supply Corps 1965 to 1970, Montgomery Ward 9/70 to 9/71, then returned to Navy from 1971 to retirement in 1992. Retired Captain, Supply Corps. Navy Tours in Chu Lai, Vietnam; San Francisco; Sasebo, Japan; Charleston, SC; NAS Sigonella Sicily where I met my wife and married in 1969; Naples, Italy; Washington, DC (incl...Expand for more
uding Pentagon). Post Navy jobs included: Defense Commissary Agency, Hadley, House and Rabin, LLC Legal Administrator, CACI, Inc. Defense Contracting. Retired 2011 from Ruehlin Associates after 11 years as a Career Transition Consultant providing career transition seminars to retiring military senior officer and enlisted. Live in Springfield, VA. Speak Fluent Italian as do my kids. I have a house in Acitrezza Sicily...wife's birth place and our second home. Spend several months a year in Sicily visiting relatives/friends, eating lots of great Italian food, and traveling. Wife, Pina, died in 2016. While in Virginia we spend as much time as possible with grand kids! Update:My wife, Pina, passed away on Nov 5 2016 while in Sicily after emergency surgery.
