David's Story

Life If you really want to know, You will have to e-mail me, or request for more info. I will tell you that after High School, I went to the Marines for two years. Saudi was hot. Was at the Arizona State Prison for 8 years (not as a prisoner) as a Sergeant. I am currently a Police Officer in Arizona. It wouldn't hurt to hear from anyone back home, I've lost touch after 13 years. Workplace In short, after two years in the Marine Corps, I went into private security. From there I hired on in the Arizona Department of Corrections. 8 1/2 years and two promotions later I decided to do what I wanted to. In 2000 I graduated from the Police Academy in AZ. Since then I've been fighting crime on the streets. To some it's not exciting, but do ya watch COPS. The real thing is better. They don't show everything! Military My military career was brief compared to others. November 89, graduated Parris Island, 1st Battalion,C.Co,Platoon 1100. Went to Camp Geiger for MCT and started SOI. There were 13 marines that volunteered for Amtracks in California. Camp Del Mar, finished Schools Battalion and was assigned to 3rd Amphibious Assault, Alpha Co. 1st Platoon. Shortly after, Desert ...Expand for more
Shield started. Went to Camp Schwab, Okinawa, was drunk for about 30 days then shipped to Saudi. Two weeks in the desert,I met with the unfortunate occurrance of having my right foot crushed by the ramp of the AAV. If only the driver was paying attention to all the marines yelling "stop" Not fun. Two surgeries later, and one on my birthday in Frankfurt,Germany. I was sent home to CampPen.SubUnit 1. I knew nobody. except for the First Sgt. All my friends were oversees, I nursed my foot and self back to health. I was sent to 29 Palms for a CAX. I was with brand new Marines who were leaving after the training. I was never asked so many questions. I wasn't 100% so I wasn't permitted to go back. When everyone came back it was different, because I wasn't there. During such time, Supply lost all of my personal belongings. I had to start from scratch. The war was over and downsizing occurred. I took the early out after a year of light duty. Severence, Disability and a slight limp. It didn't matter, I never met a better group of men and women. I always wanted to be a Marine, and I always will be. I'll never forget...Thank You for the memories and the experiences. Semper Fi LCPL David Crane USMC
