After OHS graduation I attended the Community College of Baltimore and graduated with an AA degree. From there I went to Kansas State College of Pittsburg and earned a BS in Industrial Technology graduating in the summer of 1970. Before I knew it, I was drafted into the Army. Did basic training at Fort Dix New Jersey graduating in December 1970. From there I was sent to Fort Sill Oklahoma for my MOS (military Occupational School). I was trained there in Fire direction control/forward observer. That meant I was assigned to an artillery unit to calculate data to put artillery onto a target or to go out with the infantry and direct artillery onto targets. After I finished my training at Ft. Sill I received orders for Vietnam in 1971. While in Nam I was with C battery of the 2nd of the 321 Artillery attached to the 101st Airborn Division.
