I use to just pound the iron but now I'm pounding the keys. After 21 years in the penal system in Texas, I've gotten out with good behavior and have continued my writing career. As an older writer credits for my writing have come slowly and my past nominations for certain screenwriting awards by Fresh Voices Screenwriting Contest have been surpassed by two finalist placements. Hopefully, my current top 10 placement in the Action genre in Scriptapalooza will bare even better fruit when the final announcements are made. A minor set back. I was picked up for parole violation. It's cool. Nothing big. I'll be out in 3-6 months. Oh...I didn't make the top three scripts so I don't know where I placed. I now have time for another rewrite. Back out and on parole again. A second script made it to the Finals of the Creative World Awards. Didn't win. Worst part, no money for being in the top ten. I don't know where I'm going to get my bail money next time. Just finished my fifth script. a dark and violent Fantasy piece. Maybe this one will make me some cash. My editor thinks it's my best work. I write great action. Art imitates life. Bounced a check and I'm now doing community service work. Raking leaves on public property but at least it's outside work. Fresh air. Finished my fifth script and waiting for a LA consultant's evaluation of it in it's first draft. My editor and proofreader feel it's my best work. We'll see. Things are looking up. Just got a job in New Hampshire. It's so simple and right up my alley. I'm now working for the Hillary Clinton campaign and it's super sweet. I only have to make sure no reporters or intelligent voters with questions can get close to her. I even get to shove them around and rough them up. Things look good for Hillary after Nevada.
