David's Story
Life
My chief activity over the past 30 years was as a self employed farmer
in Belize, Central America; my chief crop and activity being honey and beekeeping including the loading and unloading of 700 lb. drums of honey. I served as secretary of the Lucky St. Anne's Beekeepers' Co-operative from 1974-79, supervising the financial and production activities of 18 members; for three of those years I was that Co-op's representative on the Belize Honey Producers' Federation which dealt with the export marketing of our product.
Most recently I have completed training as a customer service representative for Pacific Bell digital personal communicators.

scholarly works on the origin of Belize and one popular work in collaboration with Mr. Emory King on the Battle of St. George's Cay. My experience in journalism spans three decades beginning in 1965 as a copywriter in the Public Relations & Promotion department of the Los Angeles Times.
I have a decade of experience teaching in various secondary and tertiary level institutions in Belize, mainly English and Literature. These positions were basically substituting for career instructors who were obtaining advanced certification abroad.
In 1995 I volunteered to do reef survey work for the organization Coral Cay Conservation, subsequently qualifying as an underwater naturalist.
In the summers of 1987 & '88 I worked as a puller and navigator with my step-father on his commercial salmon fishing boat out of Winchester Bay, Oregon, operating the electronic fish finder and coordinating the auto-pilot, Loran and compass to maximize efficiency.
