David's Story
Life
After HS, I married Carroll Harvill (PHS 68) and we had a daughter, Cassandra. I earned a BS in Photojournalism at ETSU and went to work at the Palestine Herald Press as sports editor and asst managing editor in 1972. I was managing editor of Edmond (Okla) Evening Sun, then editor of newspapers in Mabank and Kemp, Tx before starting law school in Houston. Finished the juris doctorate in 1980 while working in Houston DA office as intern. Came back to Paris until early '90s, then entered nursing school while rehabing from surgery....Expand for more
I really like that role better than law practice. We moved to Boling to be closer to our daughter (Cassandra is a pediatrician practicing in Brenham and Bellville). I have been working as a psychiatric nurse and as a lawyer since then. We have two granddaughters (Bethany 9 and Victoria 7), three yorkies and a white lab. Carroll has finished up her second doctorate (she has the JD too) and is still teaching at Wharton HS, Wharton Community College, and University of Houston-Victoria. We hope to retire soon...well, semi-retire anyway.
