David's Story
Life
Here I am with over 20 years of "active duty" with the US Air Force at my Master Sergeant promotion ceremony, and ready to retire in a couple more years. I am working on my COMPTIA Security/Cisco Network Certifications and a Bachelors in Information Systems Security
Presently, I work for the Dept. of Homeland Defense at the Western Air Defense Sector in Washington State. I'm a certified Air Force Instructor and have developed four complete training programs responsible for training over 500 personnel. Every year from 2002 to 2005, I have been nominated for Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) of the Year . And in 2005, I was awarded NCO of the Year and nominated for "Trainer of the Year".
(2007, going for the gold again. But if not, at least I get to narrate the POW/MIA ceremony at the Annual Awards Banquet.
Later... No, I didn't win, but I did have the honor of narrating the POW/MIA ceremony for the 2007/2008 Annual Awards Banquet.)
I have been married to the same wonderful lady, Supatra, who's originally from Thailand, for 24 yea...Expand for more
rs. We have 2 children. Our son, Charlie, who recently returned from Iraq with the 82nd Airborne Infantry (US Army) and is married to a red head beauty name Margaret out of Maryland. They just had their first baby, making me a GrandPa. Our daughter, Ashley, is now married to a sharp young man also serving in Iraq with the US Army. They live in Tennessee and Ashley is also carrying her firstborn!
Sue (short for Supatra), has finished her cosmotology school and is now a certified cosmotologist. She's trying to start her own biz.
An absolutely wonderful family.
For a not so smart fella, I've been very fortunate!
My family and I attend a wonderful Baptist church where we have been faithfully serving for almost 13 years. My wife and I teach in the Junior Church and are Group Leaders. It's the least we can do after how much the Lord Jesus has blessed us. :)
God has been very very good to us.
That's me. A long journey from where I started. A lot of growing, learning, and struggles. Lots of good and some times not so good.
Dave :)
