David's Story

Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma (1973) - Moved to Washington State in 1978. Lived in Snohomish (Flowing Lake) until 1983, then moved to Granite Falls on Skinner Road 1984-1986. Then to Seattle hill road by 35th and buffalo farm 'silver firs area' in Everett 1986-1996.. In Granite falls I was held back in 6th and 7th grade, was supposed to graduate in 1990. I had a hard time learning some things then. (can't say here due to site restrictions) For some reason Cascade and Everett High would not take me, never found out why. My parents enrolled me at Phoenix Alternative under my moms new name Jacobs (was never legally changed). If it wasn't for some of the teachers and people and students there, I NEVER would have made it.. THIS MEANS YOU READING THIS TOO, if you knew me. During school I didn't really make a lot of friends or have any meaningful relationships "I was not good at them" awkward. There were a lot of cliches there of many types, yet I was never part of any yet was able to simply be accepted in an all of them, which then made a huge impact on things. In 1992 I joined the U.S. ARMY from a (Cribbage bet, I got double skunked) bet was if I got doubled skunked, I had to join, so guess what?! lol) under the buddy system and early release training. Simply meaning, I got to go get trained then come back and finish school and graduate. I was gone for training March 92' - Oct 92' came back to school, only to drop out my senior year and get my G.E.D. then. I was getting deployed and they wouldn't send me unless I was a grad, so at the time the choice was simple. That's when the problems with my name came up, it was never legally changed, but now I had to prove I was me and change my name back to Attebery.. took 7 months to do, even with a birth certificate. THANKS to (Georgia: office staff) for working so hard to help me fix it. I remember many many people, but never knew anyone but a single handful as loosely "friends" Everyone I knew after I came back home from training, were gone, literally. Only One or two people I knew when I came back, everyone else "life happened to as well. People I was regularly around during school, Donnie Pickett, Leatha Owens, Jeff Tovey, Sean Canada, Ron Cunningham, Dan Wilson, Marcie the "mouse" Cox, Collette, Marc White, Lee Beitz, Lance, Shane Bennett, Tonia Mccaffery, Jennifer Ainsworth, Annette Rogers, Tami Mcmurren , Robyn, Bill Skelley, John Zesbaugh, Edie Myer, Preston, "Skippy", Wendy, Charlotte, Donna Robeck, Butch & Seth, James Cant, Russ Pit, Antonio 'Tony' Luna, Francisco "Frank" Luna, Kris McDonald, Janie Allen, Mike Myers, Jason Merill, Diane Merill, Adam West, Jason Earl, James Wallace, Mike Deskins, Larry & Gene Williams, "Tiny Tim" -------- People I only knew by associations of others, Heidi Jorgensen,Van, Kim Butz, Rick Greenwood, Lisa Gentry, Shannon Ryan, Bonnie Pratt, too many to list here LOL If memory serves me okay.. a few used to work at the following Lee Beitz, Lance Spectrum Glass Co Inc, Woodenville Kim Butz the corner of evergreen way and the starting of Everett mall way Used to be named A-1 Pawn, I think Donna Robeck Rite Aid (Everett Mall) Alfy's Pizza (Broadway, Everett) Donnie Pickett, Marcie Cox, Tracy Marc White Shari's restaurant, Woodenville Leatha Owens Beddazzled (Everett Mall) Jeff Tovey Spencers (Everett Mall) Wendy, Charlotte (sisters) Wendys on 75th & Evergreen James Cant used to give me rides to work in his old pick-up then. I worked for one of my dads at Jacobs Engines Rebuilding and I also was working at Pietro's Pizza full time at both. I started working at the shop when I was 9 years old until 1996, I worked at Pietro's Pizza from 1988-1990 when they did a close by night operation, and consolidated all their stores in washington state, they still are around, but in Oregon only. Things that are gone now, Alfys pizza and skate deck (sold and demolished (2021 SilverLake) Alfy's Pizza (Broadway, Everett) (sold and demolished (2021) ----------- "Skippy" got her name from Donnie Pickett, because she used to be in the middle of class and just walk out and never come back.. Wouldn't see her for hours, sometime days, and even weeks at a time, then she would come back all bubbly, happy, hugging some people and smiling all the time. "Skippy" skipped a lot, we loved her anyway :P I never was in any of the years books that I know of,always working. Phoenix Alternative School used to have their own for a few years, I think 1986-1989, but lost funding.. I know I am in one of them.. can't find them anywhere. It was a trial yearbook, instead of students having to pick which school they wanted to graduate from. It was 15.00 at the time, but even with two jobs, I couldn't afford it. too many obligations to fuffill at that time. Kim Butz, Myself and some others were in charge of the ASB and filling the Coke/Pepsi Machines. People always be trying to scam us out of sodas lol. My personal Enemy of that time was: Bill Evans and Tina Hurd and ED, later resolved when I came back from military training, Bill was going into training. Were good now Mortal enemies of that time "like gang wars" was Ron Cunningham and Wade Reddington, "Best Brawls EVER!!" Like fighting irish, versus mad indians literally. People I know who passed away, in our timeline. Ron Cunningham, Died 2022, Tami Mcmurren, Died 2018 complications due to heart surgery My Nicknames: DJ, Deej, <-- Only at Phoenix Alternative "Speed" <-- if you knew me in Granite Falls middle school in 84' 86' in Mr. Burkes P.E. Class, when Mr. Gilderman was principle and mounted his paddle board on the wall. Mr Burke would have me run errans from building to building and messages to teachers.. I got fast at it. "I felt like his personal courier" Ms. Roach was the second coach who also called me that. ----------------------------------- MTV RULES and VH1 drools!!!! muhahahaa Casey Kasem Top 100 Countdown on the Weekends.... I made a hanging chain latern lamp, sold it to the hospital for 1500.00 on cost 32.00 to make $1,500 in 1988 is equivalent to about $3,846.53 today, an increase of $2,346.53 over 35 years. After I left School I Barely kept in contact with anyone I could find still around. I stayed in contact with Leatha Owens up until 1993 due to misunderstanding from mutual people Made contact with Donnie Pickett in 1996 then lost it again 'Dani' Jeff Tovey Stayed good friends until around 2011, then just fell away Sean Canada, lost contact for over 30 years but recently connected. Marcie (Cox) Silvis stayed in contact with until around 1994-95 misunderstanding from mutual people and my own problems I Haven't heard or seen anyone from school since, until march 2023 to Sean Canada. If the listed people read this, just know I was young and dumb and made wrong choices, If I never got to say sorry. Then I say it now "I apologize and am sorry" Some things were my fault and some not, I wish I could change those times, they were not my best moments. Married, divorced and [[remarried to: Jo-Anna Olson, Cascade High School 91'-95']] Been Married now for 20.07 years !!! "..and I still love you as much as a hobbit loves second breakfast" I am a dad of 7 kids Jonathan (30) Megan Lynn ‘Miss-carriage’ May 1995 Jason Andrew ‘Miss-carriage’ May 1995 Marcus(27) Cody (25) Juli-Ann (24) (twins) Alexandra (24)(twins) Lindsey (19) *note listed 8, but only 7, since we didn't know the sex of the baby, we made a name for each. In the military I was an: 1992 45 Echo (M-60 Sherman Tank Turret Mechanic) Mid training, (re-classed) as a 45 November-10 Abrams M1-A1 Tank Turret Mechanic (as the first models were rolling out 1997 re-classed: 12 Bravo (Combat Engineer) 1998 re-classed 12B/12Charlie Mechanized Combat Engineer and Bridge Crew Member Re-class to additional duties due to. Phazing out the Bailey Bridge to newer bridges and new float bridges. Constant re-classing and consolidation was a pain. During my time in the military, I Served as and under the following: ARMY National Guard , ARMY RESERVE, ARMY ACTIVE DUTY U.S. AIR FORCE (Telephone linesmen and Delivery systems then back to the ARMY RESERVES Over the years People say "That doesn't happen" OH YEAH! tell that to my unit who was just closed and re-branded and reopened again.. what a time and a mess was all that. "Thanks Clinton"!!! Some TOYS :D "how I miss that job. I loved everything about it then. 35 years later. I still miss all of the work, and job and relationships I built. If I could do it again I would, not for war sake, but it kept on on my feet, thinking always and more active then I ever wanted. When a job can challenge you in every aspect in your life, and you still like it. KEEP-IT no matter the $$$$ pinterest.com/pin/military-vehicles--166844361167492117/ pinterest.com/pin/36028865754396010/ Unlike most people. High-school for me was my get away from everything else. I grew up in a Military family of 25 generations of tradition and was a Pastors Son as well, there was always a shadow following, that I could not escape from. Everyone in the City knew Both my dads then. Each and everyone of YOU, who allowed me into your groups or said "HI" in passing or even talked me through things in life. THANK YOU. Some used drugs to be cool, others to escape life at home or life in general, some used relationships to do the same, and others used school and social gatherings to do the same. Ironic, we were all looking for the same things, and yet no direction. After the military, I did multipule jobs over the span of 32 years. 108 jobs total Spent most my time doing apartment maintenance and going back to collage to become a Computer programmer C++, C#, Lua, J# and IT guy. I Do not have a cell phone "I hate the miserable things" only had one, back when they were flip phones, my job made me have one. I Do not have a email account of my own, I use a shared one, for screening purposes. I Do not have a Home Phone, cost more to have and service then a cell phone these days. I Do not have any social media anymore not since 2011-2012 New Years EVE 2011, I had a TIA followed by a full blown Blood clot to the brain, which caused a massive stroke, I coded and died on the table was brought back to life January 2012, I was (age 38 then). Lets just say the timing of it and what I saw, I can not explain to anyone, in anyway that I could even use the English language to describe. It simple would pale in comparison. Since then The Lord has been guiding my steps, and each day less daunting then the next. All the times I should have died, but didn't All the screw up's I made, but was forgiven All the screwed up relationships lost, yet forgiven and some recovered. All the time I thought I was being a "good guy" even when my intent was good, I was shown how wrong I was. All the time, I didn't mean to hurt anyone, yet still did unknowingly All those Who hurt me (there are many) who did it out of spite and revenge ( I kept for over 20+ years) Glad the covering of forgiveness and mercy have taken it all away. All those times we struggle with our ego and pride,, what a useless thing it really is, we all have lost our way, Glad to have a new heart for things again All those times I wasn't there, in trade for something else.. How stupid it is to "waste time" on dead useless things in this life, which is everything but the things that are living in your home in front of you I wish i could say, I learned it all I wish I could say, I did my best I wish I could say I was a good dad/parent, there only one "FATHER" what I was in the end of it ALL, no matter how hard I tried.. failed. I could have been a better son I could have been a better brother I could have been a better dad I could have been a better friend I could have been a better boyfriend I could have been a better spouse I could have been a better husband I could have been a better neighbor ------- Harry Chapin - Cat's In The Cradle azlyrics.com/lyrics/harrychapin/catsinthecradle.html 7 kids 1 is dead, 5 others never talk to me for different reasons. "mostly young and life, keeps them away", 1 left at home, that can never leave, yet is absent. (only some will understand that) Even when I thought I was doing my best, I was shown different. Funny: How being a Pastors son all my life, Taught me absolutely nothing. IT ONLY TOOK DEATH IN THE HOSPITAL... to show me the truth in my sleep Only in my weakened state of sleep and death.. did my truth come. ------- Yet I am still here... !!!! by the Grace and Mercy of Jesus !!! I know there are haters and lovers alike. just let it be a testimony, whether you believe or not. and finally I want to apologize again to the following people. they know why, if not and time has let memory slip, than I shall only give a name for you to remember the why. Donnie Pickett "Dani" Leatha "Annette" and visa versa Tony Luna "Edie" Marcie Cox "Ami, Collette" To my old friends , how I think of you all often, and how I miss them. To all who read this: we all suffer from the same things in this life, many in different ways, yet all the same pain is pain, sorrow for sorrow, love for love, yet why do we forget the stranger?! BEST OF LUCK TO ALL WHO READ IT. BLESS each of you and I hope, that tomorrow will be better for you.. as YOU once all made My day bright back in school, I hope the same in return today for you. If you want to contact me, then please email me. I will get back to you. P.S. If anyone has or can find the Phoenix Alternative School trial year books, let me know, also if anyone has any pictures of me from those times. I lost everything years ago in a fire.. Anything would be nice to see from that time, even my silly mullet... Thanks For my A.I. Censoring "Computronic D-wave" I say this: Bah-weep-Graaaaagnah wheep ni ni bong ...and it you disagree, then It's me! Russell Casse, sir! All right, you alien assholes! In the words of my generation...Up yours!
