Friends who let us stay with them all over the world.
Plenty of time for things that matter to us.... As long as they get scheduled.
My wife Milly just got her MA in Christian Spirituality from the University of London so we have lots of unique discussions.
I'm thinking of how to extract drinking water from the air for less than $10 (third world need) and maybe writing a trashy SciFi/Fantasy novel.
And I like sailing,(boats in general), cooking, walking long distances without a big backpack (pubs help!), reading, and drinking really fine wine especially when someone else has paid for it!
I bike through the neighborhood I grew up in every once in a while (34th & Virginia) and look at the houses of all of you who grew up there also and think of you, you were a great bunch of people to grow up with. Thanks!
2007 - We've built a home that looks out over the desert and to the mountains in Vistancia NW of Phoenix. We'll spend the winters there and then back to Hopkins for the summers.
My next silly idea is to cover the roof with Solar electric for a grid tie system. Free Electricity!! (Well except for the 18 year payoff on the loan....)
Workplace
After 23 years in the wine business I changed paths a...Expand for more
nd went back to school.
I worked in Europe for 4 years as the European Consulting Services Manager and Chief Techical Architect for EMEA for our company. I'm having fun as the oldest techie in an internet/intranet company AND someone else was paying for me to live in Europe!
I'm back in the US now living in downtown Hopkins a mile from where I grw up and just couple miles from my company's office. So the holiday is over, but life is good and I still get to travel far and wide.
In early 2007 the company I worked for was acquired by Oracle Software and I once again embark on a new experience. Working for the second largest software maker.... and until I was in my late 40's the biggest company I had worked for had 50 people. But I've got a interesting and great job there so lets see where this goes.
2008 update
Sold the cabin in Nisswa and built the place in Peoria AZ. So now we are snowbirds splitting time between Hopkins and an active 55+ community northwest of Phoenix.
Went to Sweden, India and China so far this year and 3.2kW of solar panels are being installed on the house-payoff time has gone down to 7 years due to energy shortage and rate increases.
Visited Jim Holmstoen in Denver a couple times so far this year.
