David's Story
Well, I figured that while I am waiting for the heat press to warm up I would redo this and go into more detail.
I think my best memories are when I was at Huy and Medina. Although I admit that the one person I always had a problem with was the principal at Huy, Mr. Hinton. He thought that being that I was an epileptic, it cast him in a bad light and a war broke out between him and my mother. Which is why I was gone for 3 years, went to colerain for 1 year and North Linden for 2, before Hinton allowed me back at Huy.
I will admit that I had a crush on one teacher, Mrs. Kull in first grade. She only was at Huy for a year or two, where she went after that I don't know. I always got along with the teachers I had except for one. I can't think of his name off hand but he taught science and was a gun nut. He kept two guns in his room because he would go to the range after school twice a week. He tried my hands behind me one day during class and put me in the closet. Within 2 minutes I was untied and out which pissed him off even more so he tried the hand cuffs, again, I was out and this time in less than a minute. At the time I was working in the Magic Shop over at Union Station where the old Boston Store used to be in Northern Lights. My boss there by the way was the strangest I ever worked for, he used to lay on a bed of nails that we kept at the back of the shop and when someone told him he was weird, he would say that he hadn't achived total weirdness yet but he was working on it.
The people I remember most from those years...Expand for more
are a mix. I remember Andy Shay that would at times set up bets that I couldn't dent things with my head and when I did we would split the money.
I remember Ruby Coleman, who I shared my Safety Patrol crossing with, we were both placed on the driveway at Huy, as always being a bit shy.
I remember Stella Nelson whom I had a crush on but was to shy myself to ask her out.
Do I have any regrets, about school, not really. Though I wish that I had kept in touch with more people from the old days. My life since then has taken so many places, both around the U.S. as well as in asia. Some would say that I have had a very weird and strange life since then. But I wouldn't put it down or trade one second of it, though I could have done without the 2 times I took a bullet.
But with all that said and done, I find myself married now, just marked 17 years, and with 4 kids. The oldest of which just finished her first year at Columbus State. Owning a business, Freaky Tee's, and overall being very happy in where life has lead me. We are about to open our first physical location out on the east side in Sept. And Juliet, who is Filipina, we got married there in 93 and I spent the next 8 years there, just took the oath of citizenship yesterday and is now a U.S. Citizen.
So there it is in a nutshell, the condensed readers digest version. Of course there is still a lot of living to do, For I plan on living to the ripe old age of 150 lol. So if anyone wants to look me up, your more than welcome. Just look up Freaky Tee's and you'll find me.
