I work too much but have enough freedom to take off a couple days for skiing, playing guitar or hiking through the mountains. Travel used to be constant but I have managed to limit trips to once a month or less. Most of the times the trips are to Asia but I still get over to Europe a couple of times a year. I have a pretty good guitar collection with about 10 guitars and loads of amplifiers, effects, etc. Most of my guitar buddies are as busy as I am but we do get together once in a while to make some noise. I have 4 daughters and 2 granddaughters, 2 dogs and 3 cats that have managed to survive the coyotes, bear, mountain lions and foxes who swarm the place at night. There are always deer or some sort of wildlife walking through our yard. We have a family of bear who live 3 houses up the road in the Summer. They are cool to look at but if one of them tries to eat my porridge....
We live in a large development but are right on the edge of it, so the national forest is 3 minutes walk down the street. We are at about 6500ft elevation and our deck overlooks the Eastern plains all the way to Texas. We are up on Cheyenne Mountain and have a nice view of it on the other side. Sometimes just looking out the window makes me feel like I'm on vacation.

Military
Trained to be an Electronics Tech and had two years of training before hitting my first ship. Discovered the Navy life wasn't for me but got caught up in the education thing. Applied myself and got two associates and was halfway done with my BA before parting company. Worked as a government contractor throughout Europe while finishing my BA and MBA. Not too impressed with the Navy as a whole but used it to see Europe and get a good education.

I wish that Ron Paul had of made it into one of the fringe party elections. Neither Obama nor McCain impressed me as THE candidate. I think that Obama got ripped off big time. Had he of gotten voted in during a wave of economic and diplomatic success, like Clinton - he would have half a chance to succeed. As it stands, neither he nor his mostly exClinton staffers cabinet have ANY experience in how to lead the country through the quagmire Bush has handed him. If I was Obama, I would run off to Kenya and leave this to someone else to fail at. Obamamania will SOON be over unless he can pull out some kind of miracle - and quick. There are too many people and too many organizations expecting big handouts and the pot is way too small. The borrowed bailout money has tilted the US into bankruptcy and will take generations to pay back. The well is dry. Ok, so it is back to waiting on a miracle!
I just hope I can keep my business solvent and pay my mortgage through the storm. Go Obama!
