David's Story
Life
After leaving Schenectady,NY in 1967 (!!!), we moved to California, where I graduated high school. I met my wife Shalva on a Kibbutz Ulpan program in 1972, and we celebrated 40 years of marriage in 2017. We have 3 daughters: Noa 34, Shira 32, and Yif'at 27 (going on 40). Except for a short period of time when I lived in the States, I have called Israel home since I left high school. What I have done and been doing musically (I have released three albums) you should look at:world wide web dot slalomsdl dot com slash Levine dot htm .Believe it or not, there are 8 million people living in Israel, and life here is just like life all over the world: people get up in the morning, send their kids off to school, and go to work, etc., etc. All the noise the media makes about what happens here is not proportional to what really goes on. Our children do go to the army (I have three after the army). I spent two years in the Regular army, missing out on one war, but participating in another. Such is life in the Middle East. Those that are computer savvy would call these "interrupts ". My sister Sandra (who changed her name to Kinneret,Class of '73), lives 5-10 minutes away from me. She has...Expand for more
four children and four grandchildren. In November'06 she was conferred with a Doctorate of Divinity for the over 25 years she has been a practicing Reform Rabbi. My parents, after over 50 years of marriage, got divorced. It seems the Ol' Man had been having an affair for over 20 years. He has since remarried with his mistress and lives in San Jose,Calif. As you can imagine, our relationship is not the best. Mother lives near my brother, Steven. Mother has nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren. .Steven, my younger brother (Class of '77), was married, divorced, discovered that he was homosexual, and has since married his partner and they are the proud parents of 2 wild and wily boys whom they adopted at birth. Both times, they received a phone call from the hospital: "Please come and get your son". We love both boys very much and don't get to see them often enough. They all live in San Diego. That about sums it up in a nutshell. Hope to hear from you soon.Don't be afraid to write a letter,or a short note.It is very frustrating knowing you were here (not knowing who you are),and at least that I can thank you for trying to reconnect after nearly 45 years or more.
