David's Story

Life I presently live in San Diego county in the small town of Fallbrook. I have a home with a few acres in a totally secluded area called De Luz where my nearest neighbor is about a mile away. I am an aircraft examiner working for the Navy on both Camp Pendleton and North Island. I have been doing a lot of world traveling and when I am not away I am on the Harley doing local rides. I have two kids my daughter Leila is now 30 and my son Derrick is 27. I love to ski, ride the dirt bike, and play softball or what ever comes along. Life has been good! School My biggest crush probably was on Ms Holman the English teacher at Concord High. Some of you guys might remember her. What a fox. Which teacher inspired me the most? I would say Mr. Lukenbill at Oak Grove my elementary school in Sebastopol. He was a great math teacher I had a lot of respect for him. My most memorable moment was when we were all in the old Merc trying to escape on senior cut day. There were eight of us. I purposely parked behind the school for an easy get away only to find out that Mr. Lobsher (sp?) the vice principal was waiting at the gate preventing anybody from getting out. He said "Martucci where do you think you are going?" I said, "We're going to Mt. Diablo as it senior cut day?" I looked over at all of the guys in my car and they were all snickering with their heads down so as not to be not to be identified. Except for Eric Bartlow with the afro was pretty obvious. He said, ...Expand for more
"YOU GET YOUR A** BACK IN CLASS!" Just then the twins (the two sisters with red hair if you remember) drove up on his other side and he turned to stop them. That's when I rolled up my window, locked my door and turned my head to the right and floored it. I kept hearing yelling and screaming out the window but I kept looking to the right and accelerating. The car never seemed to move so slow, it was like a dream in slow motion. Well finally I looked out the window and saw Mr. Lobsher's face smashed up against my window, holding on to the mirror with his left hand and the door knob with his right. After a couple of spins in the parking lot I finally lost him and my mirror. Everybody was laughing so hard. We spent the day at Mt. Diablo but my fate was on my mind throughout the day. When I got home my dad was sitting there and looked me in the eye and said, "Dave the school called." I said, "Oh?" His lips quivered a bit then he couldn't help but snicker. Trying to hold back a laugh he said, "Just don't do it again." That was a relief. Anyway some of the guys that were identified were suspended. I got away with it as usual. I only wish I would have played football. The coach's had their favorites and seemed to overlook others with great potential. So if you ever read this Mr. Jones and Mr. Clark, you missed out. And yes, I would love to go through school again. I knew at the time that it was going to be the best time of my life and I savored the years.
