David's Story

Life Lydia and I have been together now for the past 31+ years (married 30). We have two children: Hector, 34, is a fisherman, and Danica, 25, is in her final year of her Ph.D program at UC Davis. Our grandaughter, Andrea, is 14!! Lydia graduated from UCSB with a degree in Spanish Lit. I graduated from Cal Poly SLO with a Degree in Business with Econ minor. We both earned our Masters Degrees in Education. Lydia in Counseling, and I in Administration and Curriculum Dev. We purchased our home in Orcutt in 1987 and have been living here ever since. We have enjoyed the same wonderful neighbors for over 25 yea...Expand for more
rs! Nobody wants to leave our cul-de-sac!! That being said, we did purchase some acreage in the Tehachapi Mts. and hope to build a retirement home there soon, but before we retire, we have lots of work and travel to complete! I'm still an "Old Car Nut" My "newest" old car is a `47 Plymouth on which I completed a 5 year, off-frame restoration. Among other awards, it recently took Second at the Wheels & Waves show in Santa Barbara and First place at the Plymouth Owners Club National Meet. Lydia and I each purchased Harleys recently and enjoy riding every chance we get. Hope to make a cross country trip soon!
