David's Story

We lived in St Eustache when I was at the Elementary School and Lake of Two Mountains High School. Somewhere I have a photograph of my grade 7 class at St Eustache Elementary School! I left the school in June 1968 at the end of grade 9 when the family emigrated to New Zealand. I finished school there and came to UK. I went to Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh where by some fluke I managed to get a degree. I then joined the Royal Air Force as an engineering officer. I have been an aircraft engineer constantly since and I seved in Malta, Goose Bay and in a NATO headquarters in Germany. I now live in the North of Scotland and work in aircraft maintenance. I got married in 1974 and still am happily married to the same lovely woman. We now have a 31 year old son and a 28 year old daughter - I can't figure out how that happe...Expand for more
ned so quickly. I have been back to St Eustache twice over the years, although I am not aware of anyone that I remember still being there. I went and visited the school building - boy, was that spooky? A fond memory for me was Expo 67. That was a big deal and my memories of skipping off school to catch the train into town to go to the site are still clear. My brother, Neil, was in the year above me at the school and is now living in Hobart, Tasmania where he does something with trees!!!!! He is happily married with 2 grown up kids too. I remember some odd people at the school too. Do you remember Mr Bendayan, the french teacher? My Jin in Maths and Mr Williams for Biology. Mr Patrick was a favourite, but I was not musically gifted!!! Say no more! I don't anticipate a visit to Canada before 2010. Dave McCormick UK
