David's Story
Life
Dave began his life at a very young age when he was born in California. When he was 10, there was an unfortunate incident involving an extra large sponge and a particle accelerator, and his family decided to move to southern Oregon and buy a small general store in the middle of nowhere. Ever dauntless, our young hero took up reading about Chaos Theory, and learned of the theory that a butterfly flapping its wings in China can cause a hurricane in Florida. Reasoning that a butterfly flapping its wings in Oregon could cause hurricanes in Japan, he took it upon himself to personally protect all of the peoples of Japan and hunt all of the butterflies in southern Oregon.
After surviving high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force as a Bioenvironmental Engineering Specialist. ol, he learned that a majority of the job was industial hygiene, which he felt was a similarly nifty title.
After technical school, the Air Force shipped him off to Okinawa, Japan, most likely because, being made mostly of coral, it wouldn't burn easily. In the two years he was there, the island experienced only one typhoon. He tried explaining to the locals that this was because of his butterfly-hunting excursions, but they didn't listen, nor did they put up any statues or anything, so he decided that he'd let the butterflies multiply as much as possible, and THEN they'd be sorry.
After being sent to Idaho, Dave decided that he probably wasn't Uncle Sam's favorite nephew, so he let his enlistment end, after which he joined Oregon OSHA as a Health Compliance Officer in the Medford Field Office.
After 5 years of compliance, he took a job within the Standards and Technical section and moved to Salem, where he can spend entire minutes making up biographies about himself.
