Life Once I graduated from Reed in '98, I enlisted in the US Air Force as a F-16 Tactical Aircraft Maintenance Craftsman (crew chief, mechanic). My career took me all over the world, including stints to the middle east, Korea, and a 3 year tour in Japan. After my first 6 years, I changed jobs and spent about a year as an aerial gunner on an MH-53 special operations helicopter. Flying on the PAVE LOW was by far the most fun I had ever had. But, due to some medical issues, I was forced out of that career field and sent back to being a crew chief. I spent the last year of my 8 year enlistment fighting with the doctors who didn't want to help me. I was honorably discharged in November of '06. After the Air Force I came back home to Sparks and eventually got married and had a kid. In 2024 my wife and I separated. Honestly that should have happened years before as we were never right for each other. Now I am starting life over again as the single father of a 13 year old boy who is already almost as tall as I am and a step daughter who is finishing her freshman year at UNR! But, I am learning to find my own happiness again, which hasn't been there for many years. Workplace My first job was working for my dad's best friend... He owned an audio production company (they have a studio, and provide and run the audio equipment for concerts and most of the special events around Reno/Sparks). I was on the concert set-up/tear-down crew. It was an awesome job! Full access passes, free concerts, good hard manual labor..... Awesome! My second job was as the Customer Pick-up/Storeroom clerk at Toys 'r Us. I had a lot of fun working there. Then I joined the Air Force. My childhood dream... I loved serving our country.
