Life has been good! I hope everyone of my classmates feel the same. I finished my college education at California State University at Pomona with a BS in Business Administration. While attending college I had several full time jobs. In Riverside I worked at Sears, Pennies and Wards. The last couple of years I worked at Container Corporation of America in Corona. Once out of college I decided that working that hard was not for me... Little did I know that no matter what the task is, working hard is a way of life. After graduating in 1971 I discovered that the country was in a recession and there were not that many jobs available. As a senior I spent the summer as an intern for the California Real Estate Commission with Ken Brinkerhoff and Brinkerhoff Realty. When I took the inter position I told Ken that I had never considered real estate as my chosen profession. After going through several Interviews with companies like Otis Elevator and Fleetwood Enterprises, I was in Ken's office and he asked me how the job search was going. I told him, not as well as I had hoped. At that time he offered to pay for me to go to a real estate license preparation school if I wanted to sell real estate. I remembered what a marketing professor told me in class, "Nothing happens until someone sells something." I took him up on it and I have spent most of my career in some phase of the Real Estate Profession. From selling to appraising to lending.
