David's Story

I guess it's time to add some tidbits of info. I worked for 22 years as an independent contractor distributing newspapers for our local paper, Minneapolis Star Tribune and USA Today. With the price of gas and the internet impact on newspaper sales I decided it was time to get out of the business. While I have been doing eBay since '98, it hasn't been a real source of income and it's still not, but that's my goal. In the meantime I am working for Amazon.com as a customer service rep. Got on there October 2007. It's a love/hate relationship. I love the analytical fix the problem nature of the job, as you have to solve the customers problem, but sitting in a cubicle for 10 hours at a shot has it's drawbacks. I'm used to moving around. Busy days go by fast, slow days creep. You get the point. It is a great company to work for. My wife has gone back to school and earned a second degree in German and she is working on a teaching degree as well, now working as a para-educator part-time. My oldest daughter, Kristin is in her senior year at University of North Dakota, majoring in music education and elementary education and minoring in sign language. She's busy alright, but doing very well. She successfully auditioned for concert choir too. Alyssa is now a sophomore in college. She was homeschooled up to now. We have found that she excels in the classroom and most of the classes we were concerned with she has already taken at home. So she is attending full time plus 1 class at home. She has a full schedule and we don't have any problems with her doing homework, she loves her classes and her teachers. We had to convince her to drop 1 class because we felt the load was too much. Since when do you have to keep your child from taking too many classes. She loves math and will be going to University of North Dakota next year. Jonathan is in the seventh gra...Expand for more
de, home schooled, does band at a junior high school 3 days a week. He's not crazy about his school work right now, but he's doing fine. He loves Civil Air Patrol and can't wait for the next meeting each week. The Lord Jesus Christ is at the center of our family, we are part of a great church and have been for more than 25 years. I know that my life would not be what it is without the Lord in my life. Yes, it begins with the promise of eternal life when you are born-again, but after that it's a process of walking and growing in the Lord. I can't say I have always done my part, but the Lord always has and will. I know that I have a personal relationship with Him and one day will spend eternity with Him. I wouldn't have it any other way. wwwdotgoodpersontestdotcom Now for a little history...after high school I worked a couple of jobs and then one day after feeling hopeless about my future, I went to the garbage can and took out a USAF recruiting pamphlet I got in the mail and decided to go see a recruiter. He signed me up and after a delayed enlistment I went into the Air Force to work on Minuteman III missiles. That was enough of an experience for me to decide not to make it a career. It was a unique job. 3 years, 11 months and 9 days later I was out and looking forward to going to college. Decided to go to University of North Dakota and major in journalism. Got a job at a local radio station in my freshman year and got little sleep as I went to alot of local government meetings as a reporter. Also worked part time as a weekend announcer and worked at a local pizza place. After a year, I decided to make radio my then career and while still attending classes, quit the reporting job and worked full time announcing for 2 years. to be continued... If you want to get in touch with me or just find out what I am up to...you can find me on facebook.
